There’s a lot of places, where we, mamas-to-be, can get informed and get inspired. Shortly after getting pregnant, I ordered multiple books, downloaded some apps, and checked out different YT channels, all about pregnancy of course. As you can imagine, there is a lot out there, which is nice, but it can also be a little overwhelming. So I’ve got a super-short list of recommendations for you.

pregnancy resources: books, apps, youtube channels, podcasts

Check out my list of resources below. Out of all the ones I’ve stumbled across, those are the books, apps, YT channels, and podcasts that I’ve actually stuck to and enjoyed throughout my pregnancy. The ones I would spontaneously think of during a conversation with a friend and that I would definitely recommend to any pregnant friend.

A SHORT list of pregnancy and childbirth-related books, apps, YT channels, and podcasts

mama, get informed and get inspired

BOOKS

x “Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth”Ina May Gaskin

x “The birth partner”Penny Simkin

x “Hypnobirthing: The Breakthrough to Safer, Easier, More Comfortable Childbirth” – Marie Mongan

[what it’s about? Check out THIS short clip of Marie Mongan ]

x Nurture: A Modern Guide to Pregnancy, Birth, Early Motherhood—and Trusting Yourself and Your Body”Erica Chidi Cohen

“Ina May’s Guide To Breastfeeding” – Ina May Gaskin

APPS

x Pregnancy App by Amila – you’re getting a short, daily update on your little one/your pregnancy, literally 2 sentences, which is probably the reason why I do check it daily. It’s not a long read, that’s what we have pregnancy books for. Also (well, like in most pregnancy apps I think, just that I like this app’s layout the most), you get an estimate of the baby’s weight, size, and a comparison to fruit as well as the number of days left to your due date.

You might also like the “Flo” app. I must say it’s not one that I check daily while pregnant tho, but I do feel like it deserves to be mentioned as I loved to use it to track my cycle for years and still check it frequently.

YT CHANNELS

x Bridget Teyler: visit her channel HERE

For any Polish speakers:

x Joanna Mróz – check HERE

x Mama Lama – check HERE

PODCASTS

Disclaimer: I’m pretty sure I would still like and recommend them if I would listen to them more frequently, but to be honest I’m not. I always go through phases with podcasts in general. Either I love them and seem to always find the right time to listen to some, or I just don’t. And well, lately it’s been the ‘I just don’t phase’. But in case you are into podcasts at the moment, maybe you wanna check out the following:
