This post is all about the fun things to do in your 20s.
50 Fun Things To Do In Your 20s
You’ll change and grow a lot in your 20s. It’s the perfect time to travel, to change careers, to fall in and out of love, to take risks, yet be smart about it all. Just make sure to enjoy the ride! Here are 50 fun things to do in your 20s.
Since I’m in my 30s now, let me, for a minute, be your big sister. I must say I’m pretty happy with how I handled my 20s and what I’ve done, especially when it comes to the fun parts. And let me tell you it was not about partying. Although, of course, I’ve been to my fair share of those.
However you decide to spend your 20s, I hope you let your intuition guide you, not peer pressure, not your parents’ expectations. You have the chance to set up your life for success by working hard and making the right moves. At the same time, it’s not the time to settle or overthink it! It’s the best time to take risks, change your mind, be around people and do FUN things!
I encourage you to take a moment and reflect on some fun ideas. Think about what would make you have the best time, what excites you, and create your own list. Use the examples below as inspiration.
50 Fun Things To Do In Your 20s
- Go on (at least) one of the thrill rides on the STRAT Tower in Las Vegas.
Giiiirl, I’ve done the X-SCREAM, and the Insanity Swings when I was 22 and they were super scary, yet so much fun. Most of all, I’m happy I did it in my 20s. I don’t know if it’s just me, or it’s being a mom now, but heights start to hit differently in your 30s and the desire for that kind of adrenaline also wears off a lot.
So if you do feel like that’s something that sounds exciting to you, go for it in your 20s! It will be a super fun trip, that will turn into a great memory. Soon, you might feel too old, or simply too scared to do it.
- Take a self-defense class.
Not only fun but also empowering. You can let off some steam, learn some basics about keeping yourself safer, and connect with other females at the same time.
- Travel solo.
Whether you take a road trip over the weekend, become an Au Pair abroad, or book a one-way ticket to Italy. Travel solo.
Most people I know experienced the feeling of fernweh in their 20s, yet not all of them acted on it. And let me tell you, you can feel the regret, the “what if” from the ones who didn’t. And there is a sense of satisfaction, and fulfillment in those who did.
There is no time like your twenties to just pack up a few things and venture off. Whether you leave for the weekend or a year, travelling solo will open your eyes and heart like nothing else. It’s so incredibly valuable to shut off all the noises and spend some time by yourself. At the same time exposing yourself to endless opportunities to meet new people, or even fall in love with a stranger. No matter if your solo adventures will turn out to be a disappointment (which I absolutely don’t believe) or the best things you’ve ever done, one thing is for certain. You will be proud of yourself for going for it and you won’t be left with what ifs and should haves.
- Take yourself out on a date.
It will feel awkward at first, but it seems scarier than it actually is. Take yourself out on a date. Have a solo picnic, go watch a movie, or have dinner at a restaurant, alone.
Our teens are so much about doing everything with our friends or our first bf/gf. You will change a lot in your 20s and everyone will start going their own way. Your adult-life certainly doesn’t have to and shouldn’t feel lonely, yet you’ll most likely spend a lot of time alone. So you might as well learn to enjoy your own company, find out what you like and dislike, and have fun on your own.
- Go on a blind date.
- Kiss a stranger.
- Go to a music festival.
- Take photo booth pictures.
- See your favorite band live.
- Go cliff jumping.
- Try skydiving.
- Learn to bake something, anything. If not the baking part, you will enjoy the eating part…
- See an outdoor movie.
- Join a book club.
- Go ziplining.
- Go on a double date.
- Try husky sledding.
- Dance in a bar.
- Go skinny dipping.
- See a TV show being taped.
- Start a podcast/YT channel/blog.
- Go horse riding.
- Try out different fitness classes.
- Take a dance class.
- Get a tattoo.
- Go camping.
- Do pottery.
- Learn to surf.
- Dye your hair.
- Go get your nails done.
- Get a facial.
- Ride a motorbike.
- Learn a new language.
- See a Broadway show.
- Get a completely new haircut.
- Go to New York during Christmas time.
- Say yes more often!
- Have a beach bonfire.
- Sleep under the stars.
- Host a Friendsgiving party.
- Play never have I ever with your friends.
- Ride in a helicopter.
- Go on a late-night drive.
- Have a lazy weekend. Sleep in, stay in your PJs, forget about the to-do lists, and order food. Trust me, this might not be possible in your 30s anymore!
- Have a girls night out and get a full glam on.
- Go on a road trip.
- Make a time capsule.
- Have a photoshoot.
- Make a vision board for your 20s!
To sum it up, please don’t just blindly follow the crowd, but rather try to define fun for yourself. However, I do encourage you to get out of your comfort zone, try out new things, and take risks. There is no better time to do so than in your 20s! Stay safe and have lots of FUN!
